En choisissant la lecture botanique, “ à hauteur de brins d’herbes et de fleurs des champs” du texte antique, Laurent Derobert nous donne l’occasion de revoir la géographie méditerranéenne grecque et de compléter la compréhension de cette civilisation ancestrale. 
 
Marcher et naviguer dans le sillage d’Ulysse pour cueillir les semences de la flore de l’Odyssée et l’éditer in fine comme un recueil de découpage des fleurs récrées par l’artiste Christine Crozat.

The book The garden of the Odyssey offers an odyssey inside the Odyssey.
The author,  Laurent Derobert, spent several summers following the footspets of Ulysses, searching for plants mentioned in the original text of Odyssey and finding the plant species in situ.
 
By choosing to read the ancient text from the  perspective of botany, “at the height of blades of grass and field-flowers”,  Laurent Derobert invites us to rediscover the Greek Mediterranean geography and deepen our understanding of this ancestral civilisation.  
 
This exploration takes the form of a journey – walking and sailing in the  wake of Ulysses, gathering the seeds of the flora of the Odyssey, and ultimately publishing them as a collection of flower cut-outs, recreated by the artist Christine Crozat.
