Le théâtre Nô est un art dramatique japonais traditionnel, combinant poésie, musique, danse et masques pour raconter les histoires symboliques, où chaque geste, costume et masque transmet l’état intérieur des personnages.  
 
Pendant son séjour diplomatique au Japon de 1921 à 1927, Paul Claudel rencontre le théâtre Nô. 
Il découvre dans le Nô ce qu'il imagine être une forme de synthèse des arts et métamorphose le Nô dans sa propre création littéraire
 
Ce livre d’art conçu par Virgile Legrand a été tiré à 3 exemplaires et achevé d’imprimer en septembre 2025.   
Ce livre est enrichi par un masque Nô en bois dessiné et sculpté par Ide Zentarō  井出善太 en 1924. 
Les photos du livre ont été réalisées en 1912 par Stéphane Passet au Japon. Elles représentent des comédiens du Théâtre Nô de Kyoto.

The No Theatre is a traditional japanese dramatic art form that combines poetry, music, dance and masks to tell symbolic stories, where every gesture, costume and mask transmits the inner state of characters. 
 
During his diplomatic stay in Japan from 1921 to 1927, Paul Claudel discovered the  Nô theatre.
He found in Nô what he imagined to be a form of synthesis of the arts and methamorphosis and integrated Nô into his own literary creation.
 
 This art book designed by Virgile Legrand was published in a limited edition of three copies in September 2025.
The  Nô by Paul Claudel  is enriched by a wooden Nô mask designed and carved by  Ide Zentarō  井出善太 in 1924.
The photos in the book represent actors from the Kyoto Nô Theatre  and were taken in 1912 by Stéphane Passet  in Japan.
